THE URBANIST
a bit of a pocket rocket garden.
this gorgeous townhouse had a big hole in its personality with a dusty side garden, bleached in sun.
budget friendly was big in the brief so we looked for inspiration in adjacent sites and pulled standard CMU blocks into the garden to create form, levels, seating, and details with little cost. some were painted, some were buried, and some were attacked with a grinder to reveal treasure in the textures. we called this the urbanist and the name stuck.
the client’s beautiful collection of modern furniture makes the juxtaposition work well.
